Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need permission to remodel my
home?
A: Yes. To maintain the high quality you expect in our
community, the Association has a Design Review Committee. This
committee reviews plans and specifications for remodels, for
construction, or for landscaping and painting to assure our high
standards are maintained. The guidelines are available
HERE. You can obtain the application form
HERE.
Q: Do I need permission to remove or
plant a street tree?
A: Yes.
In cooperation with the City of Chico
every street has designated
Street Trees and
their removal requires a free permit if the tree is within the
City's right-of-way which is generally 5 1/2 feet from the edge of
the sidewalk. And your Design Review Committee (DRC) is concerned
with all trees
that are adjacent to a public street or common area.
You have to obtain the
DRC's approval to plant or
remove such trees.
Q: Can commercial vehicles or boats be
parked in my driveway?
A: No. You may not park commercial vehicles or boats in your
driveway where they are visible. The association does not,
however, have any jurisdiction over the streets, so you may park any
vehicle you wish in a lawful manner on the public streets within
California Park.
Q: Can the public access the lakes and
trails?
A: No. The lakes and recreation facilities are absolutely
private. You should always carry your membership card with you
when you access the lakes or trails.
Q: Where can I find the Association
Rules?
A: You can download the rules
HERE.
Q: Can I fish on the lakes?
A: Yes, you can fish on the lakes. You need a California
Department of Fish and Game license, and are subject to all rules
and regulations of the state. The Game Warden, of course, has
jurisdiction on the lakes so keep that license with you.
